Camp Grizzly on the Palouse River

Welcome to Camp Grizzly, "Pride of the Palouse" and home of the finest Camp Staff you'll ever find! Since 1938 this has been the home to summer adventure for countless Scouts and Leaders.  Excitement is growing in anticipation of the new programs offered at Grizzly this year. Camp Grizzly has a proud tradition of unit service and great programs. Our experienced and energetic Staff is waiting to meet you and make this summer the best ever for your unit.

Camp Grizzly is 440 acre camp located along the Palouse River, 12 miles East of Potlatch, ID (next to Laird State Park). Camp Grizzly appeals to Boy Scouts young and old with its wide variety of programs. Since becoming a council summer camp in 1938 Grizzly have evolved from a small unimproved camp to the jewel in the Inland Northwest Council's camping crown.

Here are the steps to Reserve your spot! Signup for 2017 now online for in council units  

  1. Initial signup requires that you call or email your intent to attend camp.  Please call our program specialist, Taylor at 509-242-8241 or email her at  Please provide the contact name, address, City, State and zip code, Cell phone, Alternate name, email address, cell phone, troop number, council and the number of youth and adults attending and session with date.  
  2. Once entered you will receive an email with your user name and password.  
  3. You will then need to pay the $200 deposit to make the booking live.  You can then login and make either a credit card payment with a 3% service fee or echeck (no fee) or you can mail in a check to: Inland Northwest Council 411 W Boy Scout Way, Spokane, Wa 99201.

Dates to remember:

FIRST PAYMENT: January 27, 2017 $40.00 per Scout

This is a non-refundable fee per Scout. Fees are transferable to other Scouts, as long as the total number of Scouts does not decrease.

Camp Merit Badge: Sign up Starts March 15,2017 (Wednesday)

SECOND PAYMENT: March 24, 2017 $135.00 per Scout
If payment schedule is not maintained, the unit risks losing its reservation.

If all fees are not paid by May 12th the unit reservation may be cancelled unless special arrangements are made. Adult fees are due at this time. Discounts will be credited, if earned, to this payment. Units must make all three payments on-time to qualify for the On-time Payment Discount of 5%.

 The initial $200 non-refundable reservation deposit applies to 2017 camp fees.  It is transferable to another 2017 INWC resident camp, but it  WILL Not “rollover” to another year.

Campsites will be tentatively assigned based on number of participants signed up with a $40.00 per Scout reservation fee on January 27, 2017. Sign-up is prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis and on your estimated attendance, compared to the number of tents in a campsite. All campsite assignments are subject to change due to special needs and actual attendance numbers. 

REFUND POLICY: All but $40 per Scout of the fee is refundable through June 1, 2017. No fees will be refunded after June 1,2017, unless there is an illness or injury documented by a medical doctor, a death in the family or relocation of the family out of the area. Since camp has already incurred expenses related to camp staff, supplies and food, $200 of the fee IS NOT REFUNDABLE REGARDLESS OF CIRCUMSTANCES after June 1st. The unit leader or camp coordinator must request all refunds in writing and submit to the Inland Northwest Council on or before the planned date of arrival in camp (letters may be submitted at check-in at camp.) NO REFUND REQUESTS WILL BE HONORED IF RECEIVED AFTER CHECK-IN. Fees are transferable to other Scouts as long as the total number of scheduled Scouts does not decrease.
